The first thing you should know about Jack is that he's from Texas.
As you can probably imagine, that says a lot about how he lives life. From travel to singing to ministry to politics (down to his hair), it's all BIG and it's all with such a passion that you can't help but catch a bit of it.
He's the kind of guy who reads The Constitution for pleasure.
Listens to NPR political shows for the sole reason of getting riled up.
Coaches swim because he loves it.
And drives a truck the size of his homestate.
Jack was a good friend in college, one I haggled unnecessarily sometimes for a myriad of reasons and once made up for by making him a mix CD of feel-better-about-yourself songs.
But, truth be told, he wasn't - nor isn't - the kind of guy who has to be made to feel better about himself. He knows who he is, knows where he's headed, and does what it takes to get there.
He always has.
