Great Expectations - Nashville Maternity Photography

Oh goodness, every time I think about this session I get this strange wave of serenity that washes over me. And not exactly for any reason particularly life-altering or significant for me, but maybe for that feeling of rightness. Rightness in that so many years ago, a young man interviewing for a worship pastor position at a church in East Tennessee called the home of the head pastor and just happened to speak with his young daughter.

Without either of them knowing it, that conversation was the start of a story that would see them developing a relationship over a series of cities and churches and years until age was no issue and love could win out. And love has won out and continues to do so in the life of Hailey and Steven. For a sunny afternoon in Franklin, the two of them let me be a part of sharing in the current plot of their story.

The great expectation of their first child Kate who is due in January. These two are just bursting with the excitement and preparation and joy that comes with the territory. I loved being with them this day and look forward to seeing how their story continues to unfold.

A First For All

It's a story of boy meets girl - girl meets boy in the most unlikely of places. And I just so happened to be there for the start of it all. It goes without saying that, for Katherine and Jeremy to invite me to capture such a beautiful and important piece of yet another chapter in their life together, I am quite honored.

Jeremy and Katherine's story is a beautiful one. One that began one week in March on the Appalachian Trail and continues to this day, more than four years later. Married just over one year after meeting and now expecting their first child three years after that, Jeremy and Katherine are such a wonderful example of what it means to love and to build a family out of that foundation of sacrifice - of patience - of adoration and respect.

They are such a fun, energetic, and easy-going couple. That being said, an abandoned barn out on a distant country road in Middle Tennessee was the absolute perfect setting for their maternity session, today. Braving the tallest grasses known to man, an unexpected trip to the local convenience store for double-A's, and the requisite unknowns that exist for a setting like this, Katherine and Jeremy were a stellar pair.

Here's just a peek at just one great shot from our late afternoon together:
