Oh Boy!

After a wonderfully filling and satisfying dinner of Thai for date night last Friday, Cliff and I hunkered down in front of the computer and browsed through the ever-growing list of gear I have and still have yet to get. Albeit a lengthy list of already-acquireds, I (both fortunately and unfortunately) need more.

In the last year, I have purchased (and received):
  • a Canon Rebel XTI camera body
  • a Tamron 17-55mm f/2.8 lens
  • a Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens
  • a LowePro SlingShot 100
  • a Manfrotto tripod and ballhead
  • a 5-in-1 reflector
  • a Canon 580 EX II external flash
  • 12GB worth of Extreme III CF cards
  • a Canon 5D camera body
  • a Canon 100mm f/2.8 lens
  • a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L lens
  • a SchottGlass LCD protector
  • 3 Hoya UV Filters
So, we looked at the current state of our resources. I haven't mentioned quite yet where all of this capital is coming from, but there will be time for that. In the meantime, it's there. And if it's there, it'll keep being there with calculated re-investment in the right gear that will only enhance my work and help to keep bringing in the money.

We browsed around my standard go-tos for camera gear, weighing the benefits of this lens over that, this bag over the other, and the "what's it really going to take to get me to the next level" sorts of things. The choices eventually made themselves, and now our goods are on their way.

Today, I shall receive the following:

This bad mamajama:

which may be the death of my right arm.

And this cute little number:

Which is not just any old cute little messenger bag. In fact, it's not even a messenger bag. It's a Shootsac, quite possibly the most ingenious and stylish lens bag ever. And I can't wait to try it out. In fact, I may just show up tonight to my women's group with it on, loaded down with gear. You know, just for kicks and giggles (and so that Jody and I have a Shootsac fashion show for the ladies).

And that's not even all of what's in store for the week, gear-wise.

But I'll save that for another post :)
