Color Perception

As a photographer who finds a lot of joy in the editing process, I find color to be the thing. Sure, post-processing with actions and textures is one practice but when you want to get the picture just right AND normal color? Well, color is everything. There is talk of callibrating monitors, saving for web, on and on and on.

There is something about at least having an idea of where your abilities lie in color perception. There is something called the Farnsworth Munsell 100 Hue Test which is traditionally used to separate persons with normal color vision into classes of superior, average and low color discrimination. It's deceivingly difficult. I found an online verstion of the test and thought it was pretty interesting. The results are a little vague in terms of going from "perfect" to "high" but I guess the higher the worser. That's not even a word.

You can take the test here.
