Changing Things Up - Nashville Event Photography

Every once in awhile, I get a relatively random photography inquiry. And not always random by association, necessarily, because it's usually the most outlying requests that come from friends or friends of friends, but I'm talking random in nature.

I mean, what does a person who specializes in portraiture do when asked to shoot commercial products or events? Well, you just go with the flow. And you realize that no matter what your area of specialty is, changing things up every once in awhile really gets the photography juices going.

So when asked, just a day after returning from New Orleans, to pinch hit as the event photographer for the Southern Association for College Student Affairs (SACSA) 60th Annual Awards & Celebration Dinner - I felt inclined, for a number of reasons, to say yes. And I'm so glad I did!

It was an important night for SACSA and a fun one at that. To celebrate the evening, they took a walk through the decades since 1949 in music, fashion, history, and trends stopping between each to present the awards that have been existence since each one and recognizing the former Presidents of those eras.

See the fun for yourself!
