Fix-It Friday: Editing

I randomly found a photography blog the other day that posts assignments for its followers. It's called "I Heart Faces" and they've got this nifty little method to encourage others to play around with editing and post-processing on an image someone else has taken. And really, goodness knows I have enough editing of my own to do, but I thought it might be fun to participate in:

I have yet to show my own before and afters, so I thought I'd try a little something here using most of my normal editing "tools"

So here we go!

The image (what a cute kid!):

My take:

My process (for anyone who remotely cares):

1. Import to Adobe Lightroom where I...
  • made a slight crop
  • increased exposure, contrast, clarity, orange/yellow/red luminance
  • added a slight warm to the white balance
  • removed "troublesome" spots (probably leftovers from a great snack)
2. Edit in Adobe Photoshop CS3 where I...
  • softened skin
  • brightened & defined eyes
  • whitened teeth

I thought about playing around with actions and textures, but lately I've been of the mind that the more natural, the better. So there you have it!

nice job. You did a very similar process as me. I should have whitened the teeth a bit as well.
